About Camp Verde
Camp Verde is a town of roughly 12,000 in the heart of the Verde Valley, built around the confluence of the Verde River and West Clear Creek. Fort Verde State Historic Park sits in the middle of town — the 1870s Army post the community grew out of — and Montezuma Castle National Monument is minutes north.
It's the most agricultural of the Verde Valley communities. Irrigation ditches dating to the 1800s still water pastures and small farms along the river bottom, and horse property is ordinary here rather than remarkable. At around 3,100 feet, summers are genuinely hot — a different design problem than anything up on the rim.
The I-17 interchange has pulled steady commercial growth: the Cliff Castle area, hotels, fuel and truck stops, and small industrial and contractor yards along the highway frontage.

Heat, pumps, and irrigation-country wiring
Cooling load drives residential work here in a way it never does in Flagstaff. Older Camp Verde homes on 100-amp services simply don't have the capacity for modern AC plus everything else, so service and panel upgrades, dedicated HVAC circuits, and correcting overloaded subpanels make up a large share of what we do in town.
On the acreage side it's pumps and water: irrigation pump controls, booster and transfer pumps, well circuits, and the trenched feeders that reach them across a pasture. Add barn, arena, and shop wiring for horse properties, plus commercial work along the I-17 frontage — lighting retrofits, tenant improvements, and three-phase equipment circuits — and that's the Camp Verde mix. Sun exposure at this elevation is hard on outdoor equipment, so we spec UV-rated and properly rated enclosures rather than whatever fits.
