Why Choose NAES

Excellence in Craftmanship & Service

Dominic, owner of Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions, started working at just eight years old for his electrician father. Watching his father practice the trade sparked Dominic’s desire to uphold his legacy of building quality craftsmanship and providing safe electrical services to our community and beyond. This mission and purpose drove him to become a Master Electrician and ultimately start his own company.

In his early twenties, he ventured away from the family business and was introduced to a completely foreign field of electrical contracting while working for a large mining company in North Dakota. Eventually, however, he took his skills back to Northern Arizona where he spent many more years working as a mining electrician for a global mining company.

The motivation and aspiration to make a change in the industry eventually led him to open Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions, his Flagstaff electrical company. Since the beginning, Dominic and his team embody NAZ Electric’s mission and vision.

We are excited to serve our Northern Arizona community with electrical services in residential, commercial, and heavy industrial projects!

We needed an estimate for some electrical work, fast, and every company in the area was booked up until mid-January. But Dominic at Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions made time for us. He came out the next day, examined the situation, and emailed us an estimate within an hour. Here’s a company, and an electrician, that cares. Outstanding service, excellent value. They earned our highest recommendation. We’ll be going with them for the electric work, too.

Frequently Asked Question

How much does it cost to hire an electrician?
The price to hire an electrician will differ depending on the type of work, project size, and complexity. Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions considers pricing according to the project variables specific to your needs in areas of residential, commercial, and industrial.

Smaller projects, such as replacing an outlet or installing a light fixture, may have a flat rate. Larger projects, such as whole house rewires, installing a generator or panel upgrade, will require pricing based on an individual estimate.

Emergency services are available 24 hours a day and the cost will increase due to the required urgency as needed for an emergency.

All quoted work is explained and estimated upfront, so homeowners and business owners will know what to expect while pursuing quality work and safety without additional expense. Please contact us for tailored estimates.

Do I need a permit for electrical work?
It depends on how large the job is and local regulations, if you need a permit for electrical work. At Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions, we can help tell if your job, residential, commercial or industrial, requires permitting or not.

Some common small projects that require permits are when you are doing panel upgrades, installing new circuits, direct replacement of service equipment, rewiring the entire house, and entire home renovations. Lesser jobs like changing an outlet or changing a light fixture may not need a permit, but it varies from city/style within cities.

When we need a permit for a job, we complete it for you, fulfilling all local codes and safety standards.

How can I tell if my wiring is outdated?
You are able to identify unsafe or outdated wiring by looking for warning signs, such as flickering lights, tripped breakers, discolored outlets, a burning smell, or outlets with no ground (two prongs only) within your home. Knob-and-tube and aluminum are older wiring types that would also be indicators to upgrade.

At Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions, we provide electrical safety inspections to identify these issues for home, businesses, and industrial clients. Each service performed by our professionals is done so by a licensed electrician, and we always examine for electrical hazards, public safety, current building codes, and how the firm capacity meets the modern electrical needs.

If there is a problem at home or place of business, we can provide solutions that include rewiring, panel upgrade, or circuit improvements for safe and dependable performance.

Why do my breakers keep tripping?
Breakers often trip when a circuit is overloaded, a short circuit occurs, or there is a ground fault. Most commonly, this occurs as a result of too many appliances on one circuit, poor or faulty wiring, or damaged equipment.

At Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions, we identify the termination of the exact cause and offer corrective recommendations to avoid future trip events. Depending on the specific diagnostic finding, we may better manage your electrical loads more efficiently among other circuit, require or upgrade your service panel or circuits for you, or possibly repair faulty wiring.

Can I do small electrical jobs myself?
Providing that you follow some essential precautionary measures, small electrical activities such as a change of light bulb or replacing a faceplate can be completed safely during your time as a weekend warrior. Considerable projects such as adding circuits, installing receptacles, or working inside your panel, should be considered for licensed electricians as this meets regulatory requirements.

Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions can help complete all kinds of work from repairing existing minor tasks to installing major systems for homes, businesses and general industrial applications.

There is so much that can go wrong when you do small projects that result in items like shocks, fires or code violations. This is why professional work is the safest way to ensure compliance and safety. We can even provide inspections to certify that your system is functioning correctly according to local ordinances.

How often should I have my electrical system inspected?
Routine inspections can minimize hazards, maximize system life, and give you the confidence that your electrical installation can meet your current and growing demands.

Most homes or businesses will want to have an inspection of the electrical systems every three to five years or sooner if you experience any issues such as flickering lights, overloading breakers, or burning smells. Industrial building or property with higher than normal electrical demands may need to be inspected more often.

Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions conducts inspections on residential, commercial and industrial electrical systems. Our licensed electricians check for wear and tear, obsolete wiring, overloaded circuits, and compliance with the current electrical codes in your area.

What’s the difference between a fuse and a breaker?
A fuse protects a circuit by using a thin metal strip that melts when the current is too high, breaking the flow of electricity. Once blown, it must be replaced.

A breaker serves the same purpose but uses a mechanical switch that trips when overloaded. It can be reset without replacing parts, making it more convenient. Breakers are standard in modern systems, while fuses are often found in older panels.

At Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions, we replace outdated fuse boxes, upgrade breaker panels, and ensure your system meets current safety standards for residential, commercial, and industrial applications.

How can I make my home more energy efficient?
Upgrading to LED lighting, installing programmable thermostats, sealing air leaks, and using energy-efficient appliances will all make your home more energy efficient.

Northern Arizona Electrical Solutions can install energy saving lighting, upgrade from outdated or damaged wiring, add automation for smart homes and optimize the electrical load on a circuit. This might mean upgrading electrical, changing an incandescent light bulb for an LED one, or even a surge protector protecting a panel that generates electrical surges.

The lower energy bills and less stress on the system will keep your home drive safely, and now your home’s electrical systems will able to keep up with today’s significant electrical demands.

The Gateway to Arizona’s White Mountains

About Show Low

Nestled in the White Mountains, Show Low, Arizona is famous for its unusual name derived from a fabled poker game during which the winning hand was the “lowest” card (hence, its main street: Deuce of Clubs). Established in 1870 and incorporated in 1953, the city has developed into a permanent residence area for residents, seasonal tourism area and recreational area to nearby rural and less populated sections of the region.

With an approximate 11,900 residents, Show Low has a median age close to 45 years old and median household income of around $63,000. The current population is primarily White with Hispanic, multiracial and Native American residents as well.

The local economy is primarily dictated by tourism, forest-product-based businesses, healthcare, retail and educational institutions. The additional seasonal demand for housing, retail and services is compounded by the fact the burdened population is much larger than the year-round population. In fact, Show Low’s trade area swells, in population, to above 146,000 at peak seasonal times.

With its mix of permanent residents, seasonal homeowners, and supportive local businesses, Show Low has diverse electrical needs, including residential upgrades, whole-house generator installations, commercial services, and code compliance.

Seasonal building activity and the changing weather together create needs for heat tape, backup power options, and ongoing repair and maintenance.

Show Low’s small-town character, steady seasonal activity, and service-based industries make a reliable, skilled electrical contractor essential for maintaining safe, efficient homes, businesses, and industrial facilities.
