About Concho
Concho is an unincorporated community of roughly 1,500 spread across a broad stretch of Apache County high desert along SR-61, at about 6,100 feet. It's one of the oldest settlements in the area — Hispanic families farmed the Concho valley in the 1860s, well before the Mormon settlements to the west — and the old Concho townsite and its church still mark that history.
Today the character is rural and dispersed: Concho Valley and the Concho Lake area, ranch parcels, and large-lot subdivisions where neighbors are measured in acres rather than feet. Concho Lake and the surrounding grassland draw hunters and anglers, and there's a mix of retirees, families on land, and a fair number of self-sufficient, partly off-grid setups.
Services out here are thin on the ground, which is exactly why people call us — it's often easier to get a licensed electrician from Show Low than to find one closer.

Long runs, pumps, and off-grid-adjacent systems
Distance is the defining electrical problem in Concho. A shop 500 feet from the meter, a well head across a pasture, a gate operator at the end of a quarter-mile drive — every one of those needs conductors sized for voltage drop, correct burial depth and protection, and grounding done right at each structure. We do that math instead of guessing, because undersized feeders out here show up later as motors running hot and pumps burning up.
The other common Concho work is power that has to keep working when the utility doesn't: transfer switches and generator hookups, battery and solar-adjacent wiring done to code and safely disconnectable, and surge protection on well controls and electronics. Add standard rural jobs — RV and shop panels, pump control replacement, outbuilding subpanels, service upgrades on older manufactured homes — and that's most of our Concho schedule.
