About Parks
Parks is a small forested community about twenty miles west of Flagstaff, strung along old Route 66 between Bellemont and Williams with I-40 running alongside. A little over a thousand people live here, on wooded acreage rather than in anything resembling a town center — the general store, the community library, and the volunteer fire station are effectively the whole downtown.
It sits at around 7,000 feet in the Kaibab National Forest, and the surrounding land shapes daily life: Spring Valley and Garland Prairie to the south, forest road access in every direction, and elk that outnumber the residents at certain times of year.
Most properties here run on private wells, propane, and a fair amount of self-reliance. Power lines follow the roads, and the last stretch to any given house is usually the owner's responsibility.

Rural service: wells, long feeders, and backup power
Long private service runs are the defining electrical fact of Parks. A house set 400 feet back needs conductors sized for the distance, not for the meter — undersized runs are the reason a well pump hums and a shop welder browns out the lights. We calculate voltage drop and trench and install to hold up in forest soil with real freeze depth.
We also do a lot of backup and off-grid-adjacent work here: generator inlets, manual and automatic transfer switches, battery and inverter integration, and panel work to prioritize well, freezer, and heat circuits during outages — which are longer out here than in town, because Parks is often the last stretch restored. Add barn and shop subpanels, RV and equipment outlets, and surge protection for the well controller, and that's most of what a Parks property actually asks of an electrician.
