About Snowflake
Snowflake is a town of about 6,000 in the Silver Creek valley, founded in 1878 by Mormon pioneers and named for the two men who settled it — Erastus Snow and William Flake — not for the weather, which surprises most visitors. It sits at around 5,600 feet, lower and drier than the pine country up the hill.
The historic district along Main Street has one of the better collections of late-19th-century pioneer homes in Arizona, several of them restored and on the walking tour. Around the town core, the valley opens into farm ground, hay and cattle operations, and rural parcels stretching toward Taylor to the south and Silver Creek to the north.
Economically the area mixes agriculture, the industrial employment along the Snowflake-Taylor corridor, and a growing set of families who work in Show Low and live out here for the land.

Farm, shop, and historic-home wiring
Agricultural and outbuilding work is the everyday call here. That means submersible and irrigation pump circuits sized honestly for the run length, shop and barn subpanels fed underground the right way, welder and compressor circuits, arena and yard lighting, and generator interlocks or transfer switches for the places where an outage means livestock water stops. Long service runs across a property are common in Snowflake, and undersized conductors on a 400-foot run are one of the most frequent problems we get called out to fix.
In the historic core, it's the opposite scale of problem: small old houses with 60- or 100-amp services, ungrounded two-prong receptacles, and additions wired in different decades.
