About Winona
Winona is an unincorporated community east of Flagstaff, near the junction of I-40 and Townsend-Winona Road. It's small — a few hundred residents spread over a wide area — but it holds a real place in Route 66 history as one of the named towns in “(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66,” and the 1913 Walnut Canyon Bridge nearby is the oldest surviving concrete bridge on the old alignment.
The setting is high-desert transition country: less dense pine than Flagstaff proper, more juniper and open ground, with Walnut Canyon National Monument just to the southwest and the Painted Desert country opening up to the east.
Properties are large, wells are common, and many homes here are manufactured or owner-built on acreage rather than tract construction.

Acreage, wells, and aging service equipment
Manufactured-home service equipment is a frequent Winona call. Meter pedestals installed decades ago corrode, the feeder to the home degrades, and the grounding electrode system often doesn't meet current code.
