Whole-House Rewiring

What's Included
- A full assessment before a number is given: what wiring methods are actually in the walls, what's already been partially replaced, and which circuits are the real hazards.
- Replacement of knob-and-tube, cloth-jacketed, and aluminum branch circuits with modern copper NM cable, properly sized and grounded at every device.
- New device boxes, grounded receptacles, and AFCI/GFCI protection where current code requires it — bedrooms, kitchens, baths, laundry, garage, and exterior.
- Panel and service work where the existing one can't support the new circuit count, quoted openly rather than discovered halfway through.
- Permits pulled and inspections scheduled with the City of Flagstaff, Coconino County, or Navajo County — we handle the paperwork and meet the inspector.
- A written phasing plan for occupied homes: which rooms are down on which days, with power restored to the areas you're living in each night.
Questions about Whole-House Rewiring
Do we have to move out?
For most homes, no. We phase the work so the rooms you sleep, cook, and work in keep power overnight. Larger whole-house jobs on tight timelines sometimes go faster if the house is empty — we'll lay out both schedules and let you choose.
Does all of it have to be replaced at once?
Not always. If the assessment shows half the house was already redone, we rewire what's left and document what stayed. What we won't do is leave live knob-and-tube buried in insulation and call the job finished.
Will this help with insurance?
Frequently, yes — several carriers surcharge or decline homes with knob-and-tube or aluminum branch wiring. We provide the permit and final inspection documentation your insurer will ask for.
