Questions about Lighting Installation
Can you add recessed lighting without tearing up my ceiling?
In most cases yes. Canless LED fixtures need only a small hole, and we fish the wiring through the joist bays. If we do have to open drywall we tell you where and why before we start.
Is switching my business to LED worth it?
For most commercial spaces still on fluorescent, the power and lamp-replacement savings pay for the retrofit well inside a few years, and the light is better. We'll give you a fixture count and a straight number rather than a sales pitch.

Photos of the existing space help us plan the work. We will also ask about ceiling height and slope, whether a fixture is already there, the age of the home, and any requested switch changes. If you have selected a fixture, send its specifications so we can check its size, weight, and controls.

On one Flagstaff warehouse retrofit, we replaced about 10 fixtures over two regular business days, working on one side while the shop continued operating on the other.

- Should I buy my own light fixture?
- For residential projects, we generally recommend that you purchase your own lighting fixtures and ceiling fans. Send us the fixture specifications before the visit so we can review the size, weight, and controls and determine whether the existing fixture box may need an upgrade.
- Will my lighting installation require drywall repair?
- Sometimes drywall repair is needed, depending on wiring access and the requested changes. We discuss that before the work. If running a wired switch would require significant drywall damage, we may recommend a wireless switch as a lower-cost alternative.
