Whole-Home Surge Protection
A Type 2 surge protective device at your panel, backed by point-of-use protection where it matters, installed and labeled in a single visit.

What's Included
- A panel inspection first — grounding electrode connections and bonding get verified before anything is added, because a surge device on a poorly grounded panel is decoration.
- Installation of a Type 2 surge protective device at the service panel, mounted on a dedicated breaker with the shortest practical lead length so it actually clamps fast.
- Point-of-use protection at the equipment worth protecting: media centers, home office gear, well pumps, mini-splits, and any smart panel or automation controller.
- Coverage for detached structures — shops, barns, and garages on their own subpanel need their own device, and we'll tell you if yours does.
- Manufacturer warranty registration handled for you, plus a label at the panel showing the install date and the indicator light to watch.
Questions about Whole-Home Surge Protection
Isn't a power strip enough?
A strip only protects what's plugged into it, and nothing on your hardwired equipment — furnace boards, well pumps, mini-splits, the oven. The panel device handles the big incoming hit; strips handle the small residual. You want both, in that order.
How do I know if it's still working?
Every device we install has a status indicator, and we show you where it is and what a failed one looks like before we leave. A device that took a large surge has done its job and needs replacing — we'll swap it under warranty where it applies.
Can it be added to my existing panel?
Usually yes, if there's a spare two-pole slot and the panel is in sound condition. If your panel is full or is one of the known problem brands, we'll say so and quote the panel work separately rather than bolting a new device onto an old problem.
